Together For Tourism: NTY2011
Nepal , Tourism Year 2011, NTY2011, campaign has been formally launched by Government of Nepal in Kathmandu on February 26, 2010, by lighting a peace lamp carried all the way from the center of world peace, Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha. This national campaign aims at doubling the existing tourist arrival figures in Nepal to achieve the target of one million tourist arrivals per year and taking the tourism industry image of Nepal to an unprecedented height so as to establish Nepal as a prime holiday destination.
With the slogan, "Together for Tourism", the campaign, NTY2011, will open new products and activities, will offer new packages and will make every possible effort to make the stay of the guests as memorable as never before. As Nepal is synonym to nature and the Himalayas, a playground of adventure activities ranging as far as mountaineering to jungle safaris, an open cultural theater where festivals and cultural/religious practices are observed all the year round and a garden where 103 ethnic communities with 92 languages bloom, one can easily guess what is not available at such a spectacular admixture of natural and cultural treasures.
Background for NTY 2011
Government of Nepal in consultation with Nepalese travel trade sector and concerned organizations/experts decided on October 25, 2008 to launch a national tourism campaign "Nepal Tourism Year 2011". This announcement reflects the government's anticipation to bring into Nepal at least one million international tourists by the year 2011 and tourism industry's exigency to organize a tourism promotion campaign for wider impact. With the badge of adventure destination glittering and the adage "Atithi Devo Bhava" (Guests are Gods) embedded in our culture, the portfolio of tourism products never cease to mesmerize the visitors. The unparallel cultural, geographical, ethnic and bio diversities of the country allure visitors to Nepal time and again which truly substantiates the spirit of Nepal tourism brand 'Naturally Nepal, once is not enough !' Make moments of your and your loved ones life special by visiting Nepal once in 2011. You will cherish the experience of your visit to Nepal in the future and you will find to visit Nepal Once is not enough.
